This listing is to reserve a candle for you during the group service on St. Anthony's Holy Day, June 13th. You will have one candle dressed, blessed, and lit in honor of your request to Saint Anthony. St. Anthony will be venerated, honored, and praised through offerings, prayers, and dedications. He will be petitioned to assist me with my Spiritual Work and to assist you with your goal.
He is the patron saint of lost and stolen articles and was a powerful Franciscan preacher and teacher.
During his lifetime, St. Anthony was also renowned for acts that could not be explained by the laws of nature. Hence, he is known as 'The Saint of Miracles.
Regardless of how you decide to work with him, St. Anthony can make a wonderful spirit to have on your side.
To participate, please leave your intention or goal in the Notes section upon checkout. Pictures and a report from the service will be e-mailed to you. Service reports can take about a week after the service to be sent.
Please disregard the digital download.
Happy feast day Saint Anthony š¤
St. Anthony. Probably the busiest saint in heaven! But did you know:
- His name was not originally Anthony, but Fernando
- He was not Italian, but Portuguese
- He started off as an Augustinian priest in Lisbon
- He studied theology but was assigned to be a doorkeeper.
- He was so impressed by the Franciscan Martyrs that he became a Franciscan himself and changed his name to Anthony.
- He was sent to Morocco to preach, but was shipwrecked in Sicily, walked through Italy, and remained there. (the Italian connection!)
- The Franciscans didnāt realize he could preach until he was asked (on the spot and with no preparation) to give the homily at an ordination
- Although suspicious of academic learning, Saint Francis saw the need and asked Anthony to teach the Friars.
- While he was studying Scripture and deep in prayer, Baby Jesus appeared (after St. Joseph and the Blessed Mother, heās the saint most often shown holding baby Jesus)
- He once lost a valuable book and prayed for its return. The book came back, as well as the thief who took it. The book is still preserved in Bologna, and the thief became a Franciscan. (Lost things connection)
- Heās known as the saint of miracles, the wonderworker, the saint of the world, and the saint of lost things.
- He can find anything, including a future spouse, your train of thought, your peace of mind, or your purpose in life. Not just car keys.
- He died at 36!
- He was canonized the following year. (Santo subito at its best!)
